These communities pursue energy savings and energy efficiency, and can be based on installations of any energy vector, as long as it is renewable.
According to IDAE, the fundamental objectives of energy communities are:

• Generation of energy from renewable sources.
• Provide energy efficiency services (including, for example, building renovations).
• Supply, consumption, aggregation and storage of energy and potentially distribution.
• Provision of electric vehicle charging services or other energy services.

These are the initials of the Unified Supply Point Code, and are an identification code used in Spain for each energy supply point, whether electricity or gas.

An energy distributor is a company that manages the physical infrastructure so that electricity and gas reach homes, and is responsible for its maintenance.
Users have no decision-making power over their distribution company, nor do they have any kind of relationship with these types of companies that manage the infrastructure. Contracts and invoices are issued with the marketing companies.
In Spain there are 5 large electricity distributors and 300 small ones known as independents that divide the territory into large geographic areas: all the residents of a town will have the same distributor. Something similar happens with gas, and there are 5 large distributors.

An energy supplier is the company responsible for supplying and billing electricity or gas consumption in a home or establishment. They are freely chosen by users and will be the ones with whom you will sign the supply contract and to whom you will pay the bills.
Customers carry out all procedures, such as contracted power or rate changes, with their marketing company.
