Batteries and energy management, keys to the future
Australia is a leader in renewable energy and decarbonization. The state of South Australia aims to reach 100% renewable energy by 2027, and this year it has already surpassed 75%. To achieve this, they also rely on battery storage facilities, which recently set a world record by covering 40% of instantaneous demand during the evening peak, solidifying the region's position as a leader in advanced renewable energy grids. On the other hand, China is rapidly advancing in bidirectional charging technology for electric vehicles (EVs), which allows EVs not only to charge from the grid, but also to feed electricity back into it, supporting grid stability and energy storage, and enabling participation in demand flexibility markets. The country has launched several pilot programs and a three-year national plan (2025-2027) to expand charging infrastructureincluding around 5.000 new bidirectional charging units by 2027. Participants in this pilot program are receiving significant financial compensation for donating the batteries from their electric cars.
